The Daytona 500

All American Race Weekend - Daytona 500

February 15-20, 2024

“There is nothing like Florida for some February sunshine! So why not join me for a fabulous long weekend at the Daytona 500!” Tiff Needell

We are delighted to be heading back to Florida for the most prestigious race in the NASCAR series, hosted throughout by friend, supporter and motoring legend Tiff Needell.

We'll be avoiding Daytona's multi chain hi-rise hotels and returning to the undiscovered gem of New Smyrna Beach just twenty minutes south of the Speedway. A relaxed location with an attractive marina and a lively 'downtown' area with numerous restaurants, bars, shops and popular sandy beach.

A fabulous few days to enjoy all the fun of what Florida has to offer -  and not just the motor racing! An amazing event and we very much look forward to welcoming you!

Itinerary example

  • Day 1: Thursday
Arriving by air into Orlando or Tampa, we will personally meet you on arrival and transfer you swiftly and safely to New Smyrna Beach. With some time to relax and settle in before we head 'downtown', early evening, for welcome drinks and an informal dinner close to the beach.
  • Day 2: Friday
After breakfast you'll have the opportunity to explore the town and beach area at your leisure. We'll meet up early afternoon and transfer by chauffeured vehicle to Daytona's famous Motorsport Speedway.
At the circuit we will soak up the atmosphere of the infield where loyal and enthusiastic NASCAR fans create a unique 'RV village', before heading into the exclusive Fanzone to watch the teams prepare for the first big race of the weekend – the NASCAR World Truck Series race.
100 laps and run under floodlights, this is normally one of the wildest races of the weekend where up and coming youngsters try to make a name for themselves, often providing some spectacular spills and thrills.
  • Day 3: Saturday
Today, Tiff is running the show, sharing stories and anecdotes of his past Daytona experiences.
The day starts with an all American breakfast experience at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant, Daytona. Then just down the road we will visit The Motorsports Hall of Fame Museum. Next stop its the beach at downtown Daytona where we stroll along the famous sands where Sir Malcolm Campbell set numerous World Land Speed records. Moving further south we arrive at the original home of Daytona races for lunch at “North Turn- Beach Grill” the exact location where racing began in 1927 before it moved to the Speedway in 1959.
Then its back to the hotel to refresh before heading out to the quarter mile New Smyrna Raceway for some grass roots American track racing complete with hotdogs all round.
  • Day 4: Sunday
    Gentlemen...start your engines!
Today its raceday and after breakfast we head to the Speedway.
There will be plenty of time to explore the extensive merchandising area before heading back into the exclusive Fanzone where the atmosphere is building in the glass backed garages with live stage entertainment and the chance to get close to the cars before getting in position for the driver introductions.
From here it's a short walk across the hallowed banked track with escalators taking you directly to your reserved premium grandstand seats in the popular 'Pit In' with spectacular views of the entire circuit.
There's huge video screens, an excellent PA system and of course your personal headset Fanvision TV/Radios to ensure that you keep in touch with your favourite driver's pit communication throughout the race.
After the spectacle, razzmatazz and excitement of the big race and podium celebrations we'll head back to our driver and waiting vehicle, who will transfer us back in comfort to New Smyrna for a nightcap in one of the local bars after a busy day.
  • Day 5: Monday
Today is all about flexibility. Maybe enjoy a day at leisure on your own with time to relax in and around New Smyrna Beach or sign up for one of our specially created experiences.
    • Capt Doug's Sea Fishing Charter
A day's deep sea fishing with Capt Doug who has been working the waters around Daytona and New Smyrna since he could hold a fishing rod. “I have been fishing with ol' Doug Hicks for the past five seasons. I have told every living person I know about his fishing charters – Quite simply the best in Daytona!”
    • Kennedy Space Centre
Fancy a day away from cars, track and racing? Then maybe a visit to the famous Kennedy Space Centre (formerly Cape Canaveral) where you can visit NASA's launch complex, the astronaut hall of fame, or even see a rocket launch! All just an hour from the hotel and includes a car and driver for the day.
    • Rent a Boat
Charter your own day boat to explore the lakes and inland waterways at your pace. Maybe take a picnic or enjoy a leisurely lunch in one of the many waterside bars and cafes.

Monday evening is our farewell dinner
A final chance to relax with everyone before tomorrow's departure day, with an informal dinner in one of our favourite restaurants just a short transfer from the hotel.
