Day 1 Tuesday
We will personally meet you on arrival whether you choose to fly or drive to Italy.
We spend our first night in a delightful family run hotel overlooking Lake Garda in the picturesque, charming town of Desenzano. Around 4pm we all meet for an informal welcome with drinks and canapes hosted by our good friend, TV presenter and Mille Miglia enthusiast, Tiff Needell. Then it's on to our private tour of the Mille Miglia Museum, a converted monastery in Brescia, with dinner served in the museum's own trattoria.
Day 2 Wednesday
After breakfast it's off to Brescia for the Mille Miglia build up. The Piazzas and narrow streets around the old town begin to come alive with the sound of engines and the aroma of history as the Mille Miglia cars assemble...
We head back to Desenzano for lunch overlooking the lake. Watch the Mille Miglia cars pass at speed on the first leg of their epic journey whilst enjoying drinks and dessert from our private balcony and terrace. As the competitors race to their first overnight stop we follow in their wheeltracks in the comfort of our chauffeured vehicles arriving at our boutique hotel in the medieval centre of Bologna mid evening. Supper and nightcap in our favourite Italian bar overlooking the piazza, round off a busy day.
Day 3 Thursday
In the spirit of the Mille Miglia, today we have an early morning start from Bologna as we head south to the beautifully restored walled city of Corinaldo. One of the prettiest villages in Italy and full of charm and history we soak up the atmosphere of this unique leg of the race enjoying a VIP experience as guests of the local Mayor.
Our privileged passes give us access to an exclusive reserved seating area in the main square where we view the cars and competitors as they stop to have their time cards stamped literally a few feet away. Throughout this unique experience we'll enjoy Italian hospitality with drinks and aperitivo served in our seats and later a gourmet lunch in a stunning private palace.
We return to Bologna that evening, buzzing with stories and the experience of the day as we relax with a simple supper overlooking the main Piazza.
Day 4 Friday
Today we have an informal walking tour of beautiful Bologna and an opportunity to view some of the key hidden sights whilst gaining a fun insight into a fascinating city. Our young vibrant guides (1 to 6 persons) take us through the wonderful quaint cobbled streets taking in the beautiful food market, the famous towers and porticos and even a medieval operating theatre!
We meet for a light lunch in the heart of the food market and then head to our exclusive behind the scenes tour of the Lamborghini factory just one hours' transfer outside of the city.
We say farewell over dinner at the fabulous "La Bottegada Franco" where the same family has run this rustic restaurant situated on the outskirts of the city of Bologna for 70 years.
Day 5 Saturday
Check-out of the hotel after breakfast with some time to enjoy a final cappuccino overlooking the Piazza or search out that special souvenir or gift? Executive transfers will be provided to your departure airport or to take you back to Desenzano to collect your car.
If you want to extend your stay in Italy then we will be happy to make the arrangements on your behalf.
